How do mindfulness and leadership values integrate for real?
Michael will introduce us to the topic of leadership values through the lens of Robert Kegan’s maturity model and a deep Buddhist/mindfulness approach to values, and explain how these work in real terms in the hard world of business. In effect, most organisational change efforts focused around values fail. Very few leaders even understand that values are a genuine invitation to come home to a deeper sense of wholesomeness, or see that this is a possibility that is real.
Many consultants get stuck on this subject too. They tend to end up imploring leaders to “live their values” because “it is the right thing to do”. This approach will always struggle to deliver meaningful results because the client will be trying to live and lead from values with a limited and delusional understanding of the real connections between values and sustainable success. Michael will talk about how to help clients towards an understanding of the connections between their business goals and mindful values.
